An increasing amount of construction waste has been aggregating on footpaths and spilling onto the roads causing obstruction to our commuters as well as making it unsafe for the pedestrians who use these footpaths. In addition, construction sites have mounting construction materials and wastes making areas look dirty, uncared for and unpleasant thus polluting the environment.

All roads and footpaths must be kept clear of such obstruction and construction sites clean with properly stored/covered construction materials. Thimphu Thromde would like to request the public to clear such waste within 15 days of the issuance of this notice. Thimphu Thromde will carry out strict compliance as per the Waste Prevention and Management Regulations and a penalty of up to Nu. 10,000 will be imposed hereupon for those failing to comply with this notice.
