Thimphu Thromde has formally established eight Designated Disposal Sites (DDS) for the proper disposal of ritual “Torm”, as detailed below.
The public is reminded that throwing “torms” into rivers, streams, drains, roadsides, parks, green belts, or any undesignated area is strictly prohibited. A first offense will result in a verbal warning and counseling; repeat offenses will attract a fine of Nu. 3,000–9,000 as per the Waste Prevention and Management Regulation.
All residents, institutions, and practitioners are kindly requested to use only the designated disposal sites. Your cooperation is essential to keep Thimphu City clean and green.
